Portrait Gallery

I began painting portraits to fulfill a dream I had from before I even knew I was an artist. My hypothesis was "if artists paint what is important to them, can you make someone feel important and seen by painting them." 

I began painting portraits in the spring of 2026, inspired by the photographs on the instagram account Street Stories Victoria, who graciously gave their permission to use them as reference images. This account highlights the stories of people in my community who are coping with homelessness. My dream is to have a showing of these works in a venue that feels accessible to the community they portray, to hopefully assure them that they matter, they are seen, and are valued.
